Phoebe Hu

Born and raised in Taiwan, a classically trained musician and urban dance choreographer, Phoebe Hu moved to Toronto after receiving her bachelor’s degree from National Taiwan University (Foreign Languages and Literatures Department with a concentration in World Theatre), to focus on multidisciplinary performing arts.

After graduating from Randolph College for the Performing Arts as the recipient of Triple Threat Award, Phoebe has been blessed with opportunities to perform and collaborate in the diverse and vibrant body of work the companies and artists of GTA has to offer. Selected performer credits include: Mrs. Brill in Mary Poppins (Grand Theatre), Max in Cabaret (Grand Theatre), Chip in Beauty and the Beast (Young People’s Theatre), Mei Ling in Comfort (Red Snow Collective, ), George F. Walker’s World Premiere of We The Family (Hart House Theatre), Performer/Text Creation in Suitcases (Artscape Sandbox) and Mayday, Mail Order Murders (Discovery), Paranormal Witness (SYFY) for Television. Other credits includes: Assistant Director for Bruce Dow’s A Glass Hive AKA The Comedy of Errors (Fringe Festival), Movement coach for PETS (Shadowland Theatre), Script Translator for Yellow Rabbit (Silk Bath Collective/Soulpepper) and Mandarin Coach for Towards Youth – a play on Radical Hope (Project Humanity/Crow’s Theatre).
