Ontario Colour-Coded Reopening Framework and How it Applies at RCPA
In all Zones, local public health measures will be followed. Including:
Daily symptom screening before coming to the building for all Staff, Students and Faculty.
Social distancing requirements.
Wearing masks at all times inside the building.
Wearing face shields in addition to masks for any singing or loud speaking.
Regular and frequent handwashing and sanitizing.
Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces.
Records of contact maintained for anyone who enters the building – records to be kept for one month and only disclosed to a medical officer of health or an inspector under the Health Protection and Promotion Act on request for a purpose specified in section 2 of that Act or as otherwise required by law.
Please note:
Changerooms and lockers are not available for regular access, students are asked to arrive dressed for their in-person class, and to bring only personal effects that are necessary.
Studio and tutorial room bookings are not available at this time.
Stay at Home Orders
No in-person instruction
No in-person rehearsals
No in-person filming for performances.
Grey - Lockdown Zone
No in-person instruction for non-production classes:
While we are permitted to have in-person instruction limited to a total of 10 persons per instructional space under Grey Zone regulations, RCPA is electing not to have students in the building in this zone, unless they are in a production class.

In person rehearsals to prepare for the filming of performances is permitted if the following conditions are met:
10 persons in the instructional space.
Physical distance of at least two metres from every other person except:
If it is necessary for the purposes of the performance or rehearsal that the performers or persons who provide work for the performance be closer to each other or,
Where necessary for the purposes of health and safety.
There must be a barrier (for example, plexiglass) between singers and wind- or brass-instrument players and other performers.
Face masks and face shields will be worn for all rehearsals, in addition to the use of plexiglass between singers in preparation for filming.

In person filming for performances is permitted if the following conditions are met:
No spectators may be permitted in the concert venue, theatre or cinema.
Every performer and other person who performs work for the concert venue, theatre or cinema must maintain a physical distance of at least two metres from every other person, except,
If it is necessary for the performers or other persons to be closer to each other for purposes of the performance or rehearsal, or
Where necessary for the purposes of health and safety.
Singers and players of brass or wind instruments must be separated from any other performers by plexiglass or some other impermeable barrier.
Face masks and face shields can be removed solely for filming when impermeable barriers are used.
Performers are allowed physical contact for the purposes of filming, but must sanitize immediately before and immediately after contact.

Red – Control Zone
In person instruction can take place under the following conditions:
Persons in each instructional space limited to the number who can maintain physical distance at all times and in any case, cannot exceed 50 persons.
Masks must be worn at all times. Face shields must be worn for any singing or loud speaking.

Orange/Yellow/Green Zone
Orange/Yellow/Green Zone will follow all directives for the Red Zone until further notice.
Orange/Yellow/Green Zone may include more in-person classes as scheduling allows. Additional in-person classes beyond those already announced will not be added during the Summer 2021 Term. Additional in-person classes may only be added to the schedule for the Fall 2021 Term and will be announced well in advance of the start of Term.
Please note: At Orange Zone Kids Program will resume some in-person instruction.
